Brandon Mitchell
Research Assistant
Brandon Mitchell is a research assistant within the Shen NeuroLaw Lab. Previously Brandon was a Postbaccalaureate Clinical Fellow at McLean Hospital’s 3East Adolescent DBT Program, where he provided clinical support to adolescents and contributed to program evaluation and research in the Emotion Regulation, Trauma, and Family Transactions Lab. He earned his B.S. in Cognitive Neuroscience from Union College, where his senior thesis on exercise and creative problem solving was funded by a research grant. In addition to his research and clinical work, Brandon has held leadership roles, including senior class president, president of the Black Student Union, and intercultural program advisor, and he has earned multiple awards for leadership and campus impact. His research interests include adolescent emotion regulation, DBT interventions, and translating evidence-based care to underserved populations.
